I've been obsessed with The Great Salt Lake for years. It happened shortly after my mother passed away from breast cancer and I realized the lake too was dying. This photograph came from a project questioning what the slow trot of death is like. As you slowly pass away what do you make of all the sensations of loved ones visiting you? I imagine it's part dream and part memory.
